Jeremy: I remember your character! Goto, I think (s)he was called? A Dominator if I remember, good times.

I think if you played CoV now you'd be able to enjoy it more, as you say. The leveling is much, much faster, the chat has been reworked (not too much though), the PvP has been completely revamped (every power and ability now has two versions: the standard PvE version, and a specific PvP version used when flagged for PvP). Can't say the AI or the macro system has changed too much, though honestly I never had a problem with those. I think the AI is pretty good, especially the mobster-guys who hang around and snipe at you. Those guys are annoying as fuck.

Anyway, yep. John's pretty much got your account active, so you can probably just login!

Snakes, everywhere!! :(

Things I didn't like:
1) Slow leveling
2) Chat system and user interface was crap (felt like it was a single player game when you had no friends online)
3) Poor A.I, repetitive fights
4) PvP is an afterthought (abilities/classes not balanced for it)
5) Macro system and customization was crap/missing entirely

Things I liked:
1) Character customization!!!
2) Great physics system
3) Could push people off buildings
4) Travel abilities (Cool!)
5) World interactions (Climbing buildings up the fire escapes and walking around cities in ways that would get you banned for exploiting in most MMOs)

As a gamer who was after more than just a cool looking chat room it doesn't really provide that. If your after a game which lets you hang around with friends, make up cool adventures and experience them all as a super villain then its definitely the game for you. If however, you like competitive gaming then it is NOT a good choice :)

When I first played it, I was a very competitive gamer. I like to think I have changed a lot since then and that I may be able to enjoy the game more now.

I do not have any screen shots of my character (a robotic ninja), but he was very cool, I assure you!

Leah: Totally! Let me know if you get in and I'll wing you an invite. We accept all forms of utterly ridiculous costumed heroes. Given our poverty-stricken state, spare gamecards would actually be really helpful! We should catch up with you guys soon anyways, perhaps then!

Man, Nice write up Tim.

Yep, I'm totally enjoying the game. I need to like sit down for like a whole day with the character creator and get the hang of all the options and stuff. So extensive.

Rock on, Mercy Island Retirement Village!

I'll have to roll up a villain on triumph and join your motley crew. I wonder what I shall be?

ps I have a few spare gamecards if anyone would like them. They are old ones I bought when they were discounted at Toys R Us. It was less than $10 for a month of game time.

Rick: I'm not sure specifically to what you refer! Has WoW improved the physical and kinetic nature of its combat and world-travelling? I think I heard something about making mounts available earlier, perhaps you can confirm.

Ian: Yes, a two-week free trial. Download it from http://www.cityofheroes.com/

2, 3 and 5 have all been much improved in WoW - especially if you have a high level friend.
